Excuse me.

March 09, 2009

We aren’t getting much sleep around these parts…and it isn’t from a newborn…yet. It is from children old enough to think waking up in the night and keeping their parents up for hours at a time is a rather fun passtime. I mean, I love my kids and all…but I may be taking a break from blogging till I get my brain back. In the mean time…have fun making wall art!

Unfortunately, you’re not alone. We’re being serenaded with Baa Baa Black Sheep nightly at ungodly hours. I just stopped by to say I saw you feature at Grosgrain and was so thrilled to see that you include children of color in your work. I’m not in the market for invitations at the moment but I will be on the hunt again all to soon. Where does the time go? This time I’ll know where to look.

Ah! Yes sleep was a bit of an issue at our house for quite a while – hope they are back to sleeping well again soon.

I’m sure my parents would just *love* for me to share this – but that is actually the one and only time I was spanked, was for repeatedly waking my parents up in the middle of the night because I didn’t want to sleep. Ha – and I don’t think I ever did it again! But I’m not saying to spank you cuties – its just funny that you reminded me of that.

Being a mom it’s hard sometimes! And a lack of sleep can be really exhausting. So try to rest all you can, and relax while doing other things. I love your work!

The only advise I can give (I know, I know.. you didn’t ask….) is to remain mute when the kids get up. A boring Mommy is way less fun and engaging than a kind, mean or angry Mommy. Remember, “this too will pass”. Sleep well!

We have the same thing going on at our place. Unfortunatley, it’s been going on longer than I can remember! I’ve been told the smarter the child the more imaginative they are and keep themselves up once they wake. My son must be a GENIUS!!!!
