toasty, toasty.

October 14, 2008

Our first snow was this weekend…and our little ones have come to already associate cold brisk air with a cup of cocoa. Although…not until this weekend did we actually venture into making our own homemade marshmallows. Oh wow. I am not too keen on marshmallows, but these are something else! Almost like creamy vanilla taffy. The recipe we used is here. I just love this time of year!

oh my gosh those look so complicated! anything that requires perfect temperatures & measurements = too complicated for me. :) but they look DIVINE. i have always loved the look of them – hand cut into squares!

i saw an episode of barefoot contessa where she made some, tied some up in a cellophane bag with ribbon & i think she sold them at a bake sale. those would make great christmas gifts for neighbors!

I am sitting inches from the fire with cocoa in hand and I can’t get myself to move! I wish I had some of those delicious marshmallows to top it off!

Wow, that looks so good! I have been lucky enough to have your homemade hot cocoa but those marshmallows look amazing.
I have always been a fan more of the stale marshmallows, is that weird. Yeah probably. I think it’s Grandma Knell’s fault.
    You and Ken are amazing!
